Per Diem Truck Driver/Material Handler

Description: Our program located in Slingerlands, NY, currently has a Per Diem Truck Driver/Material Handler position available. Transports materials and expedites the flow of materials, supplies and equipment within Crossroads Industries in accordance with production and shipping schedules. Receives, records, delivers, ships, stages & stores equipment and supplies for all programs of the agency.

 

Qualifications:

= 18 years of age and must have ability to operate several types of agency vehicles

= High School Diploma or GED required and a valid driver’s license that meets WWAARC insurability standards.

= To secure and maintain all certifications and trainings required by WWAARC.

= Prior experience in light industrial production &/or warehouse setting preferred.

= Must be able to understand, follow & give instructions regarding the agency’s safety procedures.

= Must be aware of, and report to Shipping & Receiving Manager, Production Manager, Sr. Director of Employment & Vocational Services or Deputy Executive Director, any issues that may affect the people we support or co-worker safety.

= Must have good communication & teamwork skills; ability to work both independently and as member of a team.

= Physical requirements: Standing, lifting, kneeling, and bending regularly throughout the day. Employee must be able to regularly lift 50-75 lbs with or without accommodation.

 

Anticipated Shifts:

Per diem hours typically between 7:30 am-4:00pm, some flexibility may be required due to the demands of the department. Report to work on time and as scheduled. This is an hourly non-exempt position.
